About Severn Vale Badminton Club
Established in 1972, Severn Vale BC has always aimed to offer competitive but social league badminton. As the most Northern club in the Bristol league, we offer league badminton to Thornbury, Bradley Stoke and neighbouring areas. Generally we enter 9 teams in the Bristol Leagues and have nearly 40 members in the adult club to choose from.
Since 2008 we have been Badminton England Premier Clubs and have held Club Mark Status. These awards are given to badminton clubs of a proven high quality. We are proud of this achievement and eternally grateful to all the volunteers and coaches who help Severn Vale to maintain this high standard.
We are always looking for new talent. If you are looking for league badminton and are interested in joining us, please complete our contact form if you wish to visit. We have limited visitor spots so please contact us before visiting.
We offer potential members the opportunity to try us out over 3 club sessions, to help decide if we are the club for you. There is always a good selection of players for club-night opposition, whether or not there are matches being held. We offer league to county level badminton. We have several players of all ages who have represent the county and in some cases, England at juniors, Seniors and Masters level.
During the winter season (September – March) our club nights are held on Wednesday from 7pm – 9pm and Monday from 7pm – 9pm at Thornbury Leisure Centre. During the summer it’s also 7-9pm both nights.
We are one of a few clubs who run sessions during the summer season (April – August). These are held Monday and Wednesday, both from 7pm – 9pm. During the summer you have the opportunity to turn up as often as you like and pay a visitors fee each time, or come along every week and pay for the whole season.
If you have any further questions don’t hesitate to contact us.
